O ministro da Economia, Paulo Guedes, demitiu nesta quarta-feira o secretário da Receita Federal, Marcos Cintra, pela rejeição do Congresso à proposta de reforma tributária, que inclui a criação de um novo tributo nos moldes da extinta CPMF.
Segundo apurou o jornal o Estado de S. Paulo, a permanência do secretário se tornou insustentável, diante das reações negativas do Congresso à antecipação da proposta de criação da contribuição sobre pagamentos (CP), com alíquotas de 0,2% e 0,4%, pelo secretário-adjunto da Receita, Marcelo Silva.
Guedes já tinha avisado a interlocutores que se Cintra não viabilizasse a criação do novo imposto não teria condições de ser o negociador da reforma tributária em nome do governo.
A proposta de reforma tributária do governo sequer foi apresentada oficialmente. Ainda assim, tornou-se alvo de discórdia em todas as frentes – um sinal de que o encaminhamento da questão pelo ministério da Economia tem sido no mínimo mal planejado e conduzido de forma confusa.
