Pensava que, fosse um Messias político, libertador social, que fosse arrancar Israel das garras de Roma e devolver-lhe o apogeu dos tempos de Salomão.

Para deixar claro a este povo que Ele não era um Messias temporal e político, um libertador efêmero, e sim, o grande Libertador do pecado, a raiz de todos os males, então, o Senhor entra na grande cidade, a Jerusalém dos patriarcas e dos reis sagrados, montado em um jumentinho; expressão da pequenez terrena. Ele não é um Rei deste mundo.

Durante a procissão a igreja Católica de Sorriso fez três paradas que representaram as três quedas de Jesus até o monte calvário. A cada parada uma reflexão daquilo que aconteceu há mais de dois anos. Os representantes de movimentos, pastorais e associações, falaram do ensinamento de Jesus para quem deseja segui-lo e que para isso, é preciso renunciar a si mesmo por amor ao próximo.
