O Tribunal Superior Eleitoral (TSE) confirmou, nesta terça-feira, o envio de militares federais para realizar a segurança de locais de votação no segundo turno das eleições. O pleito será decidido no próximo domingo (30).
As forças vão atuar em 80 localidades de quatros estados – no Acre (20 municípios); no Mato Grosso (39 municípios), no Mato Grosso do Sul (11 municípios) e no Tocantins (10 municípios).
A decisão será encaminhada ao Ministério da Defesa, que será responsável pela logística de distribuição das tropas. O envio de tropas federais ocorre quando um município informa à Justiça Eleitoral que não tem capacidade de garantir a normalidade do pleito com o efetivo da polícia local.
No primeiro turno, 561 localidades de 11 estados contaram com a presença de militares durante o pleito.
