Representantes do Procon, Prodecon, MPDFT e OAB-DF participam da Blitz Nacional dos Aeroportos para fiscalizar a cobrança da franquia de bagagem, no Aeroporto Internacional de Brasília.

A cobrança pelo despacho de bagagem nos aviões mudou os hábitos de viagem de muitos brasileiros. Para evitar o pagamento de taxas de – no mínimo – R$ 59, os passageiros têm embarcado apenas com a bagagem de mão. Segundo a Associação Brasileira das Empresas Aéreas (Abear), a mudança de comportamento acabou superlotando os compartimentos nas cabines das aeronaves.

No início, a definição de tamanho e peso ficava a critério de cada companhia aérea. Para evitar que as diferenças resultassem em transtorno para os passageiros, a Abear optou por definir um padrão para esse tipo de bagagem: peso máximo de 10 quilos e dimensões de, no máximo, 55 centímetros (cm) de altura por 35cm de largura e 25cm de profundidade.

A entidade, representante das empresas aéreas, tem feito campanhas de orientação sobre as regras para a bagagem de mão, agora padronizada. “O objetivo é agilizar o fluxo dos clientes nas áreas de embarque, evitando atrasos e trazendo maior conforto para todos os passageiros”, informou a Abear, em seu site.

O guia de turismo Marcelo Gonçalves Brandão já ouviu muita reclamação sobre as taxas cobradas. “As pessoas reclamam porque já existe uma cultura de se evitar gasto com o despacho de malas, bem como de evitar perder tempo nas esteiras de bagagens. Vejo que muitos passaram a viajar com menos roupas em suas malas, para se adequarem às regras”, disse Brandão, no Aeroporto de Brasília, onde fazia check inpara retornar ao Rio de Janeiro.

“O que mais lamento é que as mudanças foram feitas sob a argumentação de que [a cobrança pelo despacho de malas] baixaria o preço das passagens aéreas. Todos sabemos que isso não aconteceu. O mesmo artifício foi usado quando tiraram o serviço gratuito de bordo. As passagens só encarecem. Agora, com a terceirização da fiscalização, que será implementada nas bagagens de mão, vão aumentar os custos. E, no final, tudo será pago pelos passageiros”, disse.

Acompanhada de seis amigos de Mato Grosso, que vieram a Brasília para participar de uma competição de natação, a estudante e atleta Guinever Beregula Gomes, de 14 anos, tinha dúvidas sobre se o travesseiro que carregava nas mãos seria ou não considerado uma bagagem extra.

“Costumo me informar por meio de matérias veiculadas em redes sociais, mas nada diziam sobre travesseiros”, afirmou, aliviada por ter descoberto em seguida que seu travesseiro não seria considerado “bagagem de mão”.

Guivener disse que os limites de peso e dimensões determinados pelas companhias aéreas a fizeram ser mais seletiva na hora de escolher o que leva nas viagens. Outra mudança de hábito, segundo ela, é lavar algumas peças de roupa durante a viagem.

Já Maria Heloísa, de 13 anos, colega de Guinever, chegou ao aeroporto sem saber que sua passagem não permitia o despacho de bagagem.

“Em cima da hora tive de tirar tudo da mala e colocar apenas o essencial na mochila. Dispensei minha calça jeans, uma toalha extra e roupas mais volumosas. Na hora, fiquei muito tensa e com medo de o peso passar do limite. Como estava a caminho de uma competição, tinha feito um trabalho de concentração que, em um primeiro momento, foi prejudicado. Depois me acalmei, e ficou tudo tranquilo”, disse a nadadora.

Apesar de carregar quatro volumes grandes de mala, além de uma bagagem de mão, uma mochila e uma bolsa, o geólogo Leno Ataíde, de 37 anos, estava bem mais tranquilo. “Temos duas crianças, o que nos permite levar mais coisas. Como viajamos muito para cá, onde moram alguns familiares, já sabemos como evitar problemas com nossas bagagens”, disse à imprensa.

Empresário do ramo de pescados, Leandro Vidal, de 32 anos, divide-se entre o Ceará, onde fica a sede de sua empresa, e Brasília, onde mora desde que sua esposa assumiu o cargo de procuradora. Por ser muito alto (1m87), ele costuma pagar mais para ter poltronas mais largas. “Geralmente os bilhetes que compro são mais ou menos 30% mais caros. A vantagem é que, além de ficar em um assento maior e mais confortável, não preciso me preocupar com as bagagens, pois estão incluídas no preço.”

Terceirizado por uma companhia aérea para ajudar no despacho de malas que não se enquadram no padrão definido pela Abear, Luciano Duarte, de 43 anos, destacou que as companhias aéreas têm dado atenção especial no caso de bagagens com instrumentos musicais; equipamentos profissionais sensíveis, como câmeras de filmagem; aparelhos eletrônicos; e carrinhos de bebês ou bebê conforto.

“Hoje mesmo tivemos de cuidar da bagagem de quatro grupos musicais. Entre as 4h30 e as 7h30 foram 70 volumes de material das bandas Harmonia do Samba e da Família Lima. Teve também um instrumento que disseram ser do Djavan”, afirmou o “balanceiro” – termo usado para os funcionários que têm como atribuição embarcar bagagens diferenciadas.
