O Tribunal Superior Eleitoral (TSE) registra, hoje, 152 milhões de brasileiros aptos a votar. O número é 2,9% maior do que a quantidade de eleitores em 2020, quando 147 milhões de pessoas podiam ir às urnas.

Esse também é o patamar mais alto desde 2008, ano do primeiro registro histórico listado nas estatísticas do TSE. Nesses últimos 14 anos, o número máximo de eleitores havia sido alcançado em 2019 — 147,8 milhões.

A evolução do número de aptos ao voto só registrou queda em 2020, quando houve redução de quase 2 milhões de votantes em relação ao ano anterior. A maior parte da população habilitada ao pleito de outubro tem entre 45 a 59 anos, é mulher e possui ensino médio completo.

Ao todo, 53% da população que deve ir às urnas em outubro é do gênero feminino, 26,72% tem grau de instrução até o ensino médio e 22,87% têm ensino fundamental incompleto. Entre jovens de 16 e 17 anos, público-alvo de campanhas de incentivo ao título de eleitor neste ano, são mais de 2,5 milhões de aptos.
